Eleven-year-old Aaradhya Jain from Noida has developed STAMBHA, an AI-powered smart cane built for under ₹10,000 to assist visually impaired individuals and elderly users. Jain presented the device at the Second World Summit on Sustainable Health and Well-Being at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok on September 25. Unlike conventional assistive canes that focus solely on obstacle detection, STAMBHA incorporates inward-facing monitoring systems to track user safety and health metrics. Inspired by her grandparents and industrialist Srikanth Bolla's story, Jain designed and programmed the prototype independently in her living room.
