32% of Indian Professionals Use AI Agents, Doubling Global Average: Microsoft

According to Microsoft’s 2026 Work Trend Index released in Bengaluru, India has emerged as a global frontrunner in workplace AI adoption. The study reveals that 32% of Indian AI users qualify as frontier professionals who actively manage multi-step workflows using automated AI agents, double the global average of 16%. Additionally, nearly 80% of Indian respondents stated that modern AI tools enable critical tasks that were impossible just 12 months ago. Microsoft India President Puneet Chandok emphasized that Indian professionals are rapidly transitioning from routine automation toward high-value supervision and complex workflow management.
