Aakash Educational Services (AESL) is facing revenue stagnation following its 2021 acquisition by Byju's for $950 million. While operating revenue initially climbed 44.6% to Rs 1,421 crore in FY22 and Rs 2,399 crore in FY23, growth slowed significantly in FY24 to Rs 2,438 crore—falling far short of Byju's projected Rs 4,000 crore target. Aakash's revenue further slid 16.7% to Rs 2,032 crore in the subsequent period. The financial crisis at Byju's also scuttled AESL's mid-2024 IPO plans, leaving the test-prep chain grappling with the aftermath of the merger.
