Agritech innovation in India is pivoting from crop monitoring toward fixing fragmented post-harvest supply chains connecting farmers, mandis, processors, and retailers. A study by NABARD Consultancy Services highlighted post-harvest losses reaching 6% to 15% for fruits and 5% to 12% for vegetables across 292 districts between 2020 and 2022. Cropin founder and CEO Krishna Kumar emphasized that data fragmentation across disparate legacy systems across stakeholders remains the critical hurdle. Industry experts believe unified AI layers can streamline agricultural forecasting, procurement planning, and multi-channel inventory allocation across India's agricultural ecosystem.
