Speaking at TechSparks, K Yatish Rajawat, Co-founder of Hundred Million Jobs, stated that investment in India is no longer creating jobs at scale. Rajawat noted that factory automation over the past decade has replaced human labor across small and medium manufacturing enterprises with advanced robotics. He warned that the artificial intelligence boom will replicate this displacement in the services sector. Citing research by Nobel laureates Daron Acemoglu and Simon Johnson, Rajawat emphasized that while new technologies eventually generate employment, the lag leaves mid-career workers particularly vulnerable to permanent displacement without adequate re-skilling.
