Cognizant has released a study estimating that AI-driven productivity gains could add between $28 billion and $84 billion to India's annual nominal GDP under realistic adoption scenarios. Under a theoretical ceiling scenario assuming total workforce adoption, the economic boost could reach $830 billion annually. The study surveyed 700 enterprise employees and 75 C-suite executives across 10 industries. Around 97% of Indian employees reported productivity improvements averaging 15%, while 74% have completed AI training, surpassing the 56% global average. Healthcare, communications, tech, and banking sectors reported the highest productivity gains from AI integration.
