Zoho Co-founder and Chief Scientist Sridhar Vembu stated that artificial intelligence could outperform 90% of software engineers within three to six months. Speaking at TechSparks, Vembu compared traditional manual coding to the handloom industry, warning that automated AI tools are rapidly functioning like mechanized looms. He noted that AI already writes better code than 60% to 70% of developers today, potentially eroding proprietary code value. However, Vembu added that roughly 97% of India's population remains unaffected consumers, insulating regions outside primary technology hubs from direct economic disruption as software creation costs decline sharply.
