Akamai Launches AI Inference and Agent Sandbox Services for Enterprises

Cloud infrastructure provider Akamai has rolled out two new services to expand its enterprise AI stack. Akamai Inference delivers managed access to 12 open-weight and custom models, ranging from 8 billion to 2.8 trillion parameters, via OpenAI-compatible APIs. Meanwhile, Akamai Agent Sandbox offers an isolated, secure environment to execute code generated by AI agents. The services leverage Akamai's global infrastructure spanning core GPU/CPU clusters and over 4,350 edge locations, enabling enterprises to build, orchestrate, and secure AI workloads on a single unified platform.
