E-commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart have revised their seller fee structures and penalty frameworks ahead of the upcoming Indian festive shopping season. Amazon has introduced a graded cancellation fee ranging from 2% to 10% on seller-initiated order cancellations across its Easy Ship and Self Ship programs, effective August 17, along with an 18% GST charge. Amazon will also raise closing fees by ₹1 to ₹3 across various fulfillment channels starting September 7. Meanwhile, Flipkart has transitioned from account-level restrictions to order-specific penalties as marketplaces gear up to compete against rapidly growing quick commerce platforms.
