Anusandhan National Research Foundation CEO Shivkumar Kalyanaraman stated that India must bypass bureaucratic hurdles to accelerate scientific discovery and technology commercialisation. Speaking at TechSparks 2026, Kalyanaraman described the autonomous statutory body as an institutional startup established under the National Education Policy 2020. At the core of ANRF's strategy is the Rs 1 lakh crore Research, Development, and Innovation fund, designed as a patient capital instrument. The fund aims to provide long-term financial backing to research-heavy and deep-tech enterprises requiring extended gestation periods, bridging the gap between academia, private industry, venture capital, and commercial markets.
