AI safety startup Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, a proactive autonomous agent powered by its Claude Opus 5.5 model. Designed for professionals and small business owners, Claude Duet operates in the background—even when user devices are turned off—monitoring connected tools and prioritizing actions. It sends daily briefings on calendar events and emails, builds financial forecasts, and drafts invoices across over 6,000 integrated applications, including Slack, QuickBooks, and Shopify. Currently in preview for US-based Claude Pro and Max subscribers, the agent is accessible via web and mobile apps.
