Bengaluru-based deeptech startup Astrome, incubated at the Indian Institute of Science, is developing high-capacity millimeter-wave wireless communication infrastructure to deliver broadband connectivity. Founded by Neha Satak and Prasad HL Bhat, the venture originated from student satellite projects at IISc and has expanded into patented telecom solutions like GigaMesh, a multi-beam E-band radio system. Astrome's technology enables telecom operators and defense organizations to cost-effectively deploy high-speed internet in rural, suburban, and dense urban regions without laying extensive fiber-optic cables, strengthening India's domestic deeptech and telecommunications hardware ecosystem.
