Mumbai-based agritech startup Balisto Agritech has developed the Balisto 130 Pro, an electric multipurpose farm machine designed to tackle agricultural labour shortages. Founded in 2024 by IIT Bombay alumni Aishwarya Ramakrishnan and Kedar Gokhale, the startup took 18 to 20 months to move from prototype to commercial rollout. The machine operates on detachable batteries via an electric dashboard or remote control. Powered by proprietary firmware managing three independent motors for auto-correction, the device assists smallholder farmers across entire crop cycles, reducing dependence on manual labour, bullocks, and expensive diesel-run machinery.
