The Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre has developed six ready-to-eat energy bar formulations made from locally grown pulses under the Kalyana Karnataka Bio-Economy Mission. Created in collaboration with the Karnataka State Department of Agriculture, the product line utilizes toor dal, green gram, black gram, and Bengal gram sourced from Kalaburagi farmers. Combining pulse crisps with peanuts, jaggery, and seeds, the shelf-stable products contain no synthetic preservatives or artificial flavours. The initiative aims to enhance agricultural supply chain value capture by converting raw regional produce into commercial packaged health foods.
