The Bombay High Court has rejected Meta Platforms Inc.'s plea seeking to transfer a Rs 1,000 crore commercial lawsuit filed by Indian ad agency Blink Digital to a US court. Meta argued that its user terms mandate resolving commercial disputes exclusively in California. However, Justice Sandeep V Marne ruled that private agreements cannot override mandatory Indian laws, citing alleged violations of India's IT Rules, 2021. Blink Digital filed the suit after Meta disabled four Business Manager accounts and approximately 9,000 associated advertising accounts in August, seeking immediate account restoration alongside Rs 1,000 crore in damages.
