Design platform Canva announced plans to lay off 1,271 employees, representing approximately 22% of its global workforce, in an organisational restructuring effort. In an internal memo, Co-Founder and CEO Melanie Perkins revealed that growth slowed this year for the first time in a decade. The restructuring will consolidate product, growth, and platform teams under a unified Product organisation while reducing management layers. The company plans to centralise key product teams in Sydney and will require hybrid workers to spend two to three days weekly in the office starting in January.
