San Francisco-based cardless payments startup Piston has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by FPV Ventures, with participation from existing investors Spark Capital and Pear VC. This brings Piston's total funding to $22.5 million following earlier seed and pre-seed rounds. Founded in June 2024 by Vikram Sekhon and Shivam Shah, Piston connects commercial fleets with gas stations and convenience stores using mobile point-of-sale integrations that eliminate skimming fraud. The company plans to use the capital to expand its US merchant network, advance product development, and recruit senior leadership over 18 months.
