India's Central Consumer Protection Authority has widened its probe into Apple regarding software warranty terms and complaints linked to the iOS 18 update. The regulator received multiple consumer complaints alleging the update degraded iPhone functionality and forced users to pay high repair costs. The CCPA escalated the matter to its investigation wing for a detailed probe. In response, Apple stated that it primarily sells hardware, does not offer warranties on software, and identified no safety or performance trends tied to iOS 18 in India.
