Beverage and cafe chain Chai Point slashed its monthly AWS cloud bill by 58.2%, dropping from $10,877 to $4,550 over 12 months. Dharmendra Raghuvanshi, Director of Digital Transformation, revealed that about 80% of the savings stemmed from an Agentic Cost Audit conducted by a single senior engineer using Anthropic's Claude Code. The AI examined production and QA accounts in read-only mode to identify idle, oversized, and orphaned resources, ranking fixes by risk and effort. The optimization did not reduce platform scale, continuing to power 8,000 connected brewing bots across 170 retail outlets.
