Chinese AI startup Manus has raised over $500 million in its first major funding round following its split from Meta. The investment round was co-led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital. Existing investors also participated heavily, including Chinese tech conglomerate Tencent, HSG (formerly known as Sequoia China), and ZhenFund, alongside several other institutional backers. Manus plans to deploy the fresh capital toward expanding its artificial intelligence research and developing next-generation foundation models. The funding marks one of the largest capital infusions for an independent Chinese AI company navigating ongoing international market shifts and technological competition.
