Bengaluru-based generative AI startup Sarvam AI is in advanced discussions to raise approximately $300 million in fresh capital from Nasdaq-listed IT services company Cognizant Technology Solutions, according to media reports. The transaction could value Sarvam between $3.5 billion and $4 billion, more than double its previous $1.5 billion valuation. Cognizant may acquire a minority stake, alongside large domestic enterprise anchor investors. The development follows Sarvam’s $234 million fundraise led by HCLTech in June 2026. IT services firms are actively investing in sovereign AI platforms to accelerate their shift toward agentic automation.
