India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry is identifying professions and sectors less vulnerable to disruption by artificial intelligence, Union Minister Piyush Goyal announced while addressing researchers in Germany. The initiative aims to position India as a global leader in domains where AI enhances efficiency rather than replacing human workers. Goyal highlighted traditional sectors such as handicrafts, handlooms, culinary arts, and tourism as key areas where human creativity and traditional skills cannot be easily automated. The government plans to support and develop these sectors to safeguard livelihoods and leverage the country’s vast youth demographic and talent pool.
