D2C sneaker brand Comet has raised ₹100 crore ($10.6 million) in a Series B funding round led by global investment firm Verlinvest. Existing investors Elevation Capital and Nexus Venture Partners also doubled down, joined by angels Ajit Mohan, Abhiraj Singh Bhal, and Anand Ahuja. Founded in 2023 by Utkarsh Gupta and Dishant Daryani, the startup operates 10 company-owned stores across India. Comet plans to utilize the capital to expand its retail footprint to 20 stores by the end of the fiscal year, double its footwear catalogue to eight distinct models, and invest heavily in proprietary sole tooling and R&D.
