Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal responded to medical professionals questioning the scientific validity of Temple, his brain-monitoring wearable startup. Goyal disclosed that Temple has incurred $30 million in research and development expenses, including $20 million of his personal capital, while currently raising funds from employees and customers. Goyal clarified that Temple is marketed strictly as a wellness and fitness tracker rather than a clinically validated medical device. Despite doctor criticism regarding unsubstantiated neurological claims, the device opened pre-orders on November 1 priced at ₹85,000, with hand-made customer shipments slated to begin in early 2027.
