Chennai-based metal additive manufacturing startup ThinkMetal has raised ₹27 crore (around $2.8 million) in a funding round led by IAN Alpha Fund, with participation from deeptech venture capital firm 3i Partners. Founded in 2021 by Sabyasachi Ghosh and Arushi Sharma, ThinkMetal develops industrial 3D printing systems like SistemT1, producing tools, moulds, and dies via metal fused additive manufacturing. The startup claims to produce metal parts up to 10X faster at half the cost. The fresh capital will fund product development, material expansion, R&D capabilities, and hiring to support commercialization across industrial applications.
