Indian artificial intelligence startup Sarvam has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Defence to develop and deploy AI solutions across the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The collaboration with HQ Integrated Defence Staff covers AI research, knowledge management, training, and operational decision-support systems. The initiative aligns with India's push for indigenous defence technology and sovereign AI infrastructure. Sarvam, which builds cost-effective Indic language models and workplace AI applications on domestic compute infrastructure, will tailor custom models to meet the operational security requirements of the armed forces.
