School edtech unicorn LEAD narrowed its net loss by over 20% year-on-year to Rs 34.5 crore for FY26, down from Rs 43.3 crore in the previous fiscal year. The Mumbai-based startup's operating revenue rose 10% to Rs 386.7 crore, supported by total income of Rs 392 crore. Operating EBITDA surged 7.5X to Rs 30.2 crore, driven by improved school retention and cost optimisation. Founded in 2012 by Sumeet Mehta and Smita Deorah, LEAD operates across 9,000 partner schools, generating substantial revenue from physical books, smart devices, and new AI-powered learning tools.
