Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk was tricked on social platform X by a satirical website targeting Starlink's prospective expansion into India. The prank asked Indian citizens without internet connectivity to complete an online petition demanding the launch of satellite internet services. Musk engaged with the post before realizing the contradiction inherent in asking offline individuals to sign a web-based petition. The viral incident comes as SpaceX continues efforts to secure regulatory approvals and spectrum licenses from Indian authorities to offer Starlink satellite broadband services across remote areas of the country.
