Hyderabad-based spacetech startup EON Space Labs reached a key milestone as its flagship earth-observation optical payload, Mira, reached orbit aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Transporter-18 mission. The company secured an Indian patent for Mira and expects its first images shortly. Founded to reduce India’s reliance on imported imaging systems, EON Space Labs develops optical solutions across space, aerial, and ground segments. Its portfolio includes electro-optical/infrared payloads for drones and ground surveillance systems, with inbound interest from over 120 domestic firms and ongoing projects under India’s iDEX defence innovation initiative.
