Mumbai-based succession and estate-planning startup WillJini has raised its first external funding round at a post-money valuation of $3.5 million without pitching institutional venture capital firms. Founded by Jugal Popat, the 12-year-old platform grew monthly revenues from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 50 lakh over the last three years. The round was backed by angel investors, including SPJIMR MBA batchmates, close friends, and internal channel partners such as mutual fund distributors. WillJini intends to expand its digital succession planning and legal will-drafting offerings across India to address the country's vast succession planning gap.
