HR tech startup Firstwork has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Earlybird Venture Capital, with participation from Legion VC, Deel Ventures, Gradient, and Y Combinator. Founded in 2024 by former Deel executives Vardhan Kapoor and Shubham Choudhary, the San Francisco-headquartered company maintains about 80% of its workforce in Bengaluru. Firstwork uses AI agents to automate frontline worker HR operations such as onboarding, compliance, and verification. The startup plans to deploy the capital to expand AI research, engineering, and sales teams across the United States and European markets.
