Flipkart Begins Employee Pilot for 'Eat In' Food Delivery in Bengaluru

Walmart-owned e-commerce major Flipkart has initiated internal employee testing for its food delivery service, Eat In, in Bengaluru. The offering is slated for a full employee rollout around September 15 before expanding to consumers across Bengaluru, with broader city expansions planned subsequently. Currently integrated within the primary Flipkart app, Eat In may eventually transition into a standalone application as operations scale. The move positions Flipkart against incumbents Zomato and Swiggy, as well as low-cost alternatives like Rapido's Ownly and Swiggy's Toing in India's highly competitive food delivery landscape.
