GalaxEye Secures US Patent for Hybrid Satellite Imaging Technology

Spacetech startup GalaxEye has been granted a US patent for its proprietary OptoSAR satellite imaging technology, following an earlier patent in India. The technology synchronises optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors on a single satellite to capture earth observation data simultaneously across day, night, and all-weather conditions. Founded by CEO Suyash Singh, GalaxEye launched its 190 kg OptoSAR satellite Mission Drishti in May. Despite losing communication in July due to a geomagnetic solar storm, the startup validated critical systems and plans to launch two new OptoSAR satellites soon.
