The Indian government has approved 12 new project applications worth over ₹7,500 crore under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, announced IT Secretary S Krishnan. The newly approved proposals extend beyond basic electronic components to encompass upstream supply chain segments, including raw materials and specialized manufacturing capital goods. Aimed at accelerating domestic production and reducing reliance on imports, the initiative strengthens India's sovereign electronics hardware ecosystem. Alongside these component manufacturing approvals, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology also launched the Semicon 2.0 web application portal to streamline execution and project tracking under the flagship Semicon India Programme.
