The Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered a 24-hour suspension of mobile internet services across a four-kilometer radius around Janpath and Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The shutdown, effective from October 9 to October 10, was enacted under the Telecom Suspension Rules amid ongoing capital protests. Concurrently, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued advisories requiring social media platforms to remove unlawful posts and label synthetic or AI-generated media under the IT Rules, 2021. Delhi Metro shut 57 stations, while businesses and mobility aggregators faced operational disruptions across the affected central Delhi district.
