The central government's ₹1 Lakh Cr Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund has approved 19 second-level fund managers with a total commitment of ₹7,131 crore. The Empowered Group of Secretaries cleared 14 Alternative Investment Funds and five focused research organisations to channel capital into deeptech enterprises operating at Technology Readiness Level 4 and above. The fund managers are expected to mobilise matching private capital. Managed under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation and the Department of Science and Technology, the initiative aims to bridge funding gaps for high-risk, research-driven innovation.
