Billionbrains Garage Ventures, parent of discount broker Groww, reported a 14.3% quarter-on-quarter drop in equity derivatives revenue during Q2 FY27, attributing the decline to SEBI’s Closing Auction System rolled out in August 2026. Derivatives accounted for 45% of Groww’s revenue, down from 57% a year earlier, as new auction timings affected trading volumes. Despite regulatory headwinds, overall business expanded, with quarterly consolidated net profit jumping 54% year-on-year to Rs 725.6 crore and revenue rising 44% to Rs 1,541 crore. The regulator SEBI is currently reviewing the settlement mechanism to ease operational challenges.
