Gurugram-based online grocery startup Satvacart has officially shut down operations after a 12-year run, founder Rahul H Saxena announced on LinkedIn. The company, which ceased operations on August 28, disbanded its entire team following prolonged challenges in raising sufficient growth capital. Founded in 2014, Satvacart initially began with milk subscriptions before pivoting to an inventory-led grocery model. While it secured smaller funding tranches and focused heavily on profitability, discussions for large strategic investments and potential acquisitions failed to materialize due to lack of scale amid intense quick commerce competition.
