Auto giant Hero MotoCorp has increased its stake in electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy to 32.8% by acquiring 1.19 crore shares from Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, GIC, for Rs 1,758.24 crore. Executed at Rs 1,480 per share on the NSE, the open-market transaction boosts Hero’s holding from 29.88%. Ather reported a revenue of Rs 3,671.76 crore in FY26 and recently concluded a Rs 1,200 crore preferential issue. Following the block deal, Ather’s stock rose 8% to Rs 1,616.3, lifting its market valuation to nearly Rs 63,762 crore ($6.7 billion).
