Hindusthan National Glass and Industries Ltd (HNGIL) has served a demand notice under Section 8 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) to B9 Beverages, maker of Bira 91 beer. HNGIL, an operational creditor, claims an unpaid default of ₹11.77 crore for manufactured glass bottles ordered by B9 Beverages but allegedly not lifted. B9 Beverages has 10 days to settle the dues or prove a pre-existing dispute, failing which HNGIL plans to initiate Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) at the NCLT. The notice follows founder Ankur Jain's recent exit from executive roles.
