Hyderabad-based defencetech startup Apollyon Dynamics, founded by Jayant Khatri and Sourya Choudhury, has pivoted away from conventional commercial drone manufacturing to focus on high-value military hardware. Despite generating over ₹1.5 crore in drone sales, the founders cited severe market saturation and low differentiation as reasons for the shift. The startup has rebuilt its portfolio around three core defence products, led by Nightshade, a jet-powered platform functioning as a target drone, decoy, or loitering munition. Apollyon plans to deliver pilot batches of target drones to the Indian Army by December.
