IBM and Maersk Discontinue Joint Blockchain Platform TradeLens

Shipping giant A.P. Moller - Maersk and IBM are shutting down TradeLens, their joint blockchain-based supply chain platform. Launched in 2018, TradeLens aimed to digitize global supply chains and enhance transparency as an open industry platform. Despite high-profile backing, the venture struggled to achieve commercially viable industry-wide adoption. The companies announced that the TradeLens team will withdraw its service offerings and take the platform offline by the end of the first quarter of 2023, while ensuring continuity for existing customers during the sunset period.
