Indian electric vehicle retail sales reached an all-time high of 333,634 units in September, up 74% year-on-year, according to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). Overall EV penetration climbed to nearly 13%, driven by festive demand, improving total cost of ownership, wider model availability, and supportive schemes like PM E-DRIVE. Electric passenger vehicle sales nearly doubled to 36,108 units, lifting segment penetration to 8.5%. Meanwhile, electric two-wheelers touched a record 207,314 units, up 88% year-on-year. Three-wheelers also remained predominantly electric with a 64.9% penetration share across the country during the month.
