India's battery industry is projected to create 1.5 million to 2 million jobs by FY30 as the sector shifts from basic cell assembly to domestic manufacturing and recycling, according to staffing firm Adecco India. The talent company expects hiring to expand by 25% to 30% annually, split between 25% direct and 75% indirect roles in electrochemistry, battery engineering, materials science, and recycling. India’s battery manufacturing capacity is anticipated to reach nearly 100 GWh by late 2026, driven by gigafactory investments in Gujarat, Karnataka, Haryana, and Telangana alongside the government's Critical Minerals Mission.
