India’s data centre sector has secured $173 billion in investment commitments since 2021, driven by surging cloud adoption and AI demand, according to a report by real estate consultant CBRE. In the first half of 2026 alone, the sector drew approximately $38 billion in commitments and added 130 MW of fresh capacity, with another 200 MW expected in the second half. Hyperscale and co-location facilities accounted for nearly 62% of commitments. CBRE expects India’s total installed capacity to approach 2 GW by the end of 2026, solidifying its regional market dominance.
