IndiaAI Mission Launches Indigenous AI Models EKA-1 and Dhīr

The IndiaAI Mission has officially released three indigenous artificial intelligence models to boost sovereign AI capabilities. Developed by Soket Labs, the EKA-1 model offers multilingual support across all 22 scheduled Indian languages alongside English. Additionally, ZenteiQ has released the Dhīr 2B and Dhīr 5B lightweight models, designed to support English and 10 regional Indian languages. Released as part of India's national AI strategy, these models aim to provide secure, culturally aligned, and computationally efficient foundations for developers building localized AI applications across governance, education, and enterprise sectors.
