Indian Enterprises Overhaul Data Infrastructure for Enterprise AI Agent Adoption

13 Oct 2026, 11:59 am · 7h ago · 1 min read · Inc42

Indian enterprises are restructuring legacy data architectures to enable artificial intelligence agents to reason across siloed corporate workflows. According to a Dun & Bradstreet survey highlighted at an Inc42 and Oracle roundtable, while 73% of Indian businesses report measurable returns from AI investments, merely 4% consider their enterprise data fully prepared to support AI at scale. Addressing this gap requires eliminating accumulated data debt, unifying fragmented customer identities, and updating data permissions. Companies are now focusing on establishing real-time data access and context-aware infrastructure to justify AI deployment costs and transition experimental pilots into robust production environments.
