The Indian government has firmly dismissed allegations made by Elon Musk claiming that Starlink is facing discriminatory barriers in launching satellite communication services across the country. Musk had claimed that local oligarchs were blocking Starlink to maintain a monopoly. In response, the Ministry of Communications clarified that a fair and transparent authorization framework applies to all satellite providers, including Starlink, Jio Satcom, and Eutelsat OneWeb. The ministry stressed that every licensee must fully comply with national security conditions and spectrum clearance processes before receiving final operational approval to launch commercial satellite broadband services in India.
