Indian Startup VC Funding Hits $1.14 Billion in September, Dips 8.3% YoY

Indian startups raised $1.139 billion in venture capital funding in September, registering an 8.3% year-on-year decline from $1.242 billion in September last year. However, funding rose 15.5% month-on-month compared to August’s $986 million, marking the third billion-dollar month this year alongside February and July. Early-stage startups led the intake with $557 million, followed by growth-stage firms at $331 million and late-stage deals at $85 million. Mega deals across Pixxel, DMI, Simple Energy, and SiMa.ai accounted for $654 million. Sector-wise, fintech topped inflows with $251 million, followed closely by electric vehicles at $222 million, with Bengaluru leading regional funding.
