Indian white-collar hiring recorded a 14% year-on-year growth in August, according to the latest Naukri JobSpeak Index by Info Edge, reaching 3,028 points compared to 2,664 in August last year. The expansion was led by the automotive sector at 19%, followed by healthcare at 16% and retail at 15%. The IT sector experienced an 11% uptick, while FMCG and banking grew 10% each. Hiring increased across experience levels, with entry-level fresher recruitment jumping 15% year-on-year. Info Edge noted that shifting festive calendar dates may have influenced hiring timelines across both IT and non-IT segments.
